Varanger peninsula (Norway), 2014
Varangerhalvoya National Park is the northernmost park in mainland Europe, situated about 500 kilometres far north of the Arctic Circle. The Park covers the upland plateau dominated by barren, rocky landscape crossed by plenty of rivers which furrowed very deep valleys and canyons. Its remarkable part is occupied by lakes and bogs as well. Harsh arctic weather conditions result in treeless, stony tundra (boulder fields) and snow patches you can meet here even at the end of the summer time.
